Do you love the day of lovers and want to be ready for it right down to the last details? Will you decorate your table for a special Valentine’s Day tea? These hearts spread out over the tablecloth or in a fruit bowl can help add to the romantic atmosphere. They are pleasant to the touch and easy, fast and inexpensive to make.
1 Materials: Buy natural banana paper at an arts and crafts shop; you will also need scissors, a brush, dispersion glue and a piece of wire or a knitting needle.
2 Buy a small two-sided polystyrene heart from the florist.
3 Pierce the heart onto the wire so it will be easier to work with, and brush both sides with glue.
4 Using a brush that has been dipped in water, wrap the heart with a napkin so that wrinkles will form.
5
The wrinkles create a beautiful marble pattern.
6 The napkin must be very thin, and even then use only one ply. A facial tissue can be used instead.
7 After the napkin has dried completely, cut strips of red and white banana paper.
8 Banana paper has a very interesting structure that makes the heart even more stunning. Using the brush, glue the strips to the heart in all different directions without entirely covering the marbled paper below.
9
Brush decoupage glue over the entire decoration once more. Once dry, it will be transparent and acts as a final coat of varnish.
