Iron-on decoupage
1 An iron can be used to adhere large images more easily. The iron helps prevent the napkin from becoming wrinkled or tearing when it is being adjusted and flattened into place. It also eliminates the threat of air bubbles forming below the napkin which would cause the image to warp.

2 Method: Paint the surface with white acrylic varnish and let dry. Cut the picture out from the napkin and remove the bottom two plies. Brush glue onto the place where the picture will be adhered. In this case an iron will be used to assist the process. Once dry, lay on the picture, cover with baking parchment and lightly iron (using the lowest settings). As soon as the picture is firmly attached to the base, brush with hobby and craft glue diluted with water to fix the image in place. To finish, after the image is bone dry, apply a coat of clear varnish. View the process step by step in the Bears article.
