Children undoubtedly look forward to Easter most. To make their wait for the Easter bunny more enjoyable, this greeting card craft is just right for them. This adorable bunny wishing the recipient a large basket brimming with chocolate and eggs can arrive in the mail to herald in the holiday.
1 Materials: Napkins featuring an Easter motif – we selected colourful bunnies, but there is a wide selection of motifs and it is up to you to decide which to use. You will also need decoupage glue, flat and round bristle brushes, scissors and tempera paint.
2 First select a suitable napkin. Select one with a picture that will be easy to cut out. The resulting effect is always nicer if the picture is cut out precisely. Some motifs are too intricate. If the motif has a white background and it will be glued to white paper, you do not need to be as careful – any inconsistencies will not show up in the result.
3 Using a brush, apply glue to the handmade paper card. A single coat of diluted glue is enough. Never apply glue directly to the napkin – it is too thin and would be ruined.
4 Separate the bottom plies of napkin from the cut out picture. If the plies hold together firmly, it is easier to first remove the top printed layer of napkin and then cut out the design. It is best to do the same with small pictures.
5 Adhere the picture. Using a wet brush, carefully adjust the pattern into place and, when dry, brush once more with glue. This allows the napkin to become incorporated into the base while fixing it in place.

8 A thin brush with tempera paint is used to complete the picture.
Small children can also be invited to join in. Decoupage is easy and fun. (Give children safety scissors with rounded points for cutting). As the makers and receivers, this is a craft children will doubly enjoy.
