Romantic-style collages on hearts and bells can be used not just at Christmastime, but the whole year round. The trimmings can be hung on curtains or on the skirt of a tablecloth in the girl’s bedroom, attached to gifts or cards, tied to dried flower arrangements or used as a small present. The possibilities are endless.

Collage is an art technique in which the craft item is created by gluing together cut-outs, photographs or small items. In our case we used Christmas-themed pictures torn out from wrapping paper. If you tear the pictures out rather than cut them, you will have more work to do, but a huge difference will be seen in the result. The torn borders can blend with each other better, and there will not be any straight lines dividing one picture from the other.

2 Glue the torn-out pictures to the trimming. Start in one spot and work from there, gradually adding more and more pictures to cover the entire surface.

3 After gluing a picture to the trimming, smooth it out with wet fingertips. Do not worry if glue also gets on the surface of the paper. Once the glue dries, it will become transparent and even add lustre to the trimming.

4 At the end, put a ribbon on the trimming for hanging.
