Materials needed: Straw wreath base; floral stem wire; candle holders; fresh boughs; decorations and ribbons
Cut the boughs to 10 to 15 cm in length.
Keeping the tips pointed in a uniform direction, progressively tie the cuttings to the wreath.
Alternate various types and shades of cuttings. I do not recommend using spruce as this dries out and sheds its needles quickly. One remedy is to use floral foam for fresh flowers instead of a straw wreath; this allows the cuttings to retain moisture and keeps them from drying out. Keep in mind that lit candles can easily cause dried plants to ignite. Never let candles burn on the wreath unattended. If the Advent wreath does not manage to stay fresh for the entire Advent period, make a new one. The fresh evergreen scent will reward you for your efforts.
The finished wreath can also be hung on the front door.
If you want to create a table wreath, pierce the candleholders into the wreath base and insert the candles before continuing with decorating.
If ornamental plant cuttings are used, there is no need to decorate the wreath more.
It is enough to use stunning white candles for decoration.
We wrapped a golden ribbon around the wreath and added gift ornaments, fresh lichen, and pine, spruce and larch cones.
